Originally owned by a shipping firm,
the house was known to harbour illegal loot
in its secret underground passages. Nowadays,
whilst the hotel has been modernised and tastefully
decorated, it still retains much of its old
character (minus the smuggling, it has to be
said!)
The hotel is under the
personal supervision of Graeme Lamb assuring
you of a warm, friendly and efficient service.

Traditional Scottish hospitality can
be found in the provision of comfortable facilities
within the reassuring intimacy of a family-run hotel,
creating a quite unique atmosphere. |

Our award-winning cuisine is
guaranteed to delight the most discerning palate,
based on local delicacies such as prime Galloway
beef, lamb, lobsters, prawns and - of course
- Balcary Bay salmon.
The hotel is fully licensed with
a comprehensive wine list which is sure to
impress too.
After your meal, relax in our cocktail
bar-perhaps
enjoying one of the many malt whiskies we can
offer. |

Or snuggle down in one
of our comfortable lounges, in front of the
log fire.
There are twenty well-appointed
bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom.
Many enjoy magnificent views across the
bay, with the remainder overlooking the
3 acres of gardens.
Each is individually designed and all benefit
from the owners personal touches.
